My interest in psychoanalysis began in college but was suppressed in favor of graduating with honors in economics. A layer of suppression lifted and I returned to college for pre-med studies and an ambition to be a surgeon! Graduating from Harvard Medical School in the second class of women encouraged the surgery ambition, but psychoanalysis could not be repressed. I began my own analysis while an intern in Chicago, and pursued my candidacy at the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis. I trained in both Adult and Child Analysis, ultimately becoming a Training Analyst. After the death of my husband, I was fortunate to marry Dr. Joseph Nemetz, an analyst in Boston. I relocated to Boston and have remained her ever since.

My major interest has been in teaching and supervising analytic candidates until my retirement. I serve on the Board of Directors of a music organization and a medical organization seeking to communicate medical knowledge to third world countries. A life of public service according to Plato! The photo is deceptive -- while I look comfortable seated at the instrument, I am a rank amateur. Having started learning to play a year ago, I am thoroughly enjoying it!
