FIND AN ANALYST OR THERAPIST
The BPSI Referral Service is closed through January.
BPSI does not provide direct clinical care or handle urgent referrals. If you require urgent clinical attention, please contact your physician or go to your local emergency room. When the referral service re-opens, we will accept non-urgent inquiries for referral to BPSI-affiliated clinicians for psychoanalytic therapy and psychoanalysis. We regret that BPSI-clinicians have limited availability and a referral may not be possible.
The Referral Service of the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute assists people of all ages seeking a non-urgent referral to a psychoanalyst or psychoanalytic therapist member of BPSI for treatment in the modality of psychoanalysis or psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapy. Members of BPSI are psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and licensed mental health clinicians who all have additional training in psychoanalytic theory and practice; many of these professionals are currently in advanced training at BPSI, and some are graduates of one of BPSI’s advanced training programs. Many trainees are able to negotiate an adjusted fee.
BPSI Psychoanalysts and Psychotherapists provide treatment in private offices located throughout the Boston, North Shore, South Shore and Metro-West area. Fees and other treatment arrangements are made directly with the therapist providing the service.

For Mental Health Professionals seeking psychoanalysis as part of psychoanalytic training, referrals for adjusted fee psychoanalysis to BPSI training psychoanalysts can be made.
