Dr. Robert Reid was born in Peculiar, Missouri and was one of nine members of his graduating high school class. His father said about him "we'll make a doctor out of this one". In 1955, he became a founder and director of the Cambridge Guidance Center, which later became the Cambridge-Somerville Mental Health and Retardation Center. He was director during his entire career there and had a wonderful time doing it. He married another psychoanalyst, Elizabeth, and has three children. He has been retired about ten years now, but is still active with the Cambridge Foundation.
