The
collection of Oral History Transcripts features the printed records
of interviews with prominent psychoanalysts and their
relatives.
Some of the transcripts were created from the sound recordings
in the larger
BPSI Oral History Interviews collection (see Audiovisual Materials),
while others do not have corresponding audio records in the BPSI
Archives. Many of the featured interviews have been conducted and
recorded by Dr. Sanford Gifford, the Director of BPSI Archives.
The most recent additions to the collection are the
transcripts
of
interviews with Anna Freud (1963), Helene Deutsch, and Muriel Gardiner
(1968) conducted by Lucille Ritvo (courtesy of the New York
Psychoanalytic Society and Institute Archives), Dr. Gifford's
interview with Janet Brown (2004), and the typescript of an
interview with
Jeanne de Groot Lampl by Christien Brinkgreve
translated from German (1986).
