Biographical Note:Lydia
Gibson received her medical degree from Yale University in
1929.She married
Daniel Dawes with whom
she traveled to Vienna
for analytic training.She
was analyzed
by Anna Freud and worked
closely with child analyst Jenny Waelder.Lydia Dawes established child-psychiatry
units at Children’s Hospital and Beth Israel Hospital
in Boston.
Summary: this small collection features a
notebook from
analytic training in Vienna, correspondence, and miscellaneous
manuscripts and notes. BPSI Archives also holds one interview with
