American Psychoanalytic Association Records,
1930-1976
The
American Psychoanalytic Association (APsaA),
the oldest and
largest national organization for professional psychoanalysts,
was founded in 1911. APsaA is a publisher of a peer-reviewed
quarterly scholarly Journal of the American
Psychoanalytic Association (JAPA), the creator
of the professional standards and ethics for psychoanalysts, and a
constituent of the International Psychoanalytical Association. The
Boston
Psychoanalytic Society and Institute is an affiliate of the
American Psychoanalytic Association. The small collection of
APsaA records held at BPSI Archives reflects the old versions
of
APsaA constitutions and by-laws, earlier minutes and meeting related
correspondence.
